JMW Turner

Joseph Mallord William Turner lived from 1775 to 1851. He rose from very humble beginnings to become one of Britain's greatest painters. He was famous for his paintings of water; the sea, lakes and rivers. His paintings inspired the later work of the impressionists, particularly Monet.
This work was inspired by the Turner presentation on this blog that the Polish children had used. Our children liked the idea of doing the same work as the Polish children. We built on the knowledge of wave painting from our work on Hokusai's Giant Wave. The children used watercolours.
